Life Lately | paper lobsters, SPD & pancake day

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1518697722881{padding-right: 50px !important;padding-left: 50px !important;}”][dropcap]I[/dropcap]‘ve just had one of those Nakd bars that I’ve seen all over Instagram Stories- I can verify the Bakewell Tart flavour is delicious. I’ve had my juice, put the laundry on, vacuumed the house, made some graphics for work AND the food shop’s been delivered- it’s not even noon yet! Not bad for someone who was told to rest more by her midwife yesterday. Right so, onwards…[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1518706622675{padding-top: 50px !important;padding-right: 50px !important;padding-bottom: 80px !important;padding-left: 50px !important;background-color: #f8f3f0 !important;}”]The biggest thing to happen this week has been going to our 4D baby scan. It was a little overwhelming to see our little one’s face in the womb, but also so amazing! You could see her cheeks and her lips so clearly and she yawned– I feel like she’s a mix of my Mum and Robin (although both Robin and Ismay said she looks like me) As per usual, she refused to budge for the sonographer and we couldn’t see her whole face as she was clearly very comfortable nestled into my womb and not at all appreciative that her nap was being interrupted. I’ve only shared the photos with family, but since she apparently looks like me, here’s a photo of me and my Pop (p.s the grain in an 80’s photo is a beaut!)

If you’re interested, we went to the Baby Scan Clinic in Harley Street- it was lovely and I recommend it.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”19296″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”19270″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1518699154415{padding-top: 50px !important;padding-right: 50px !important;padding-bottom: 50px !important;padding-left: 50px !important;background-color: #f8f3f0 !important;}”]

Last night, I woke up and discovered that my boobs had leaked colostrum all over my PJ’s. Becoming the Leaky Cauldron wasn’t what I had in mind when it came to recreating a real life Harry Potter moment.

Anyway, another week, another maternity milestone. At a routine checkup with the midwife, I described the pains in my pelvis and she thinks it might be a little bit of SPD (pelvic girdle pain basically) and recommended acupuncture- which let’s be honest, I’m not going to get round to doing. Instead, she told me to rest more and at 7 months pregnant, I put my hands up and say OKAY!  SPD is when your pelvic bones aren’t aligned properly as your body grows in pregnancy. No heavy lifting, no errand days, making sure my knees stay below my hips and getting down on all fours (which I do already to relieve the aches) all help to keep the problem at bay. It’ll be fine once baby arrives though. So that’s been the joy of joys!  Pregnancy, you’ll be GLOWING![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1518705844754{padding-top: 80px !important;padding-right: 50px !important;padding-bottom: 160px !important;padding-left: 50px !important;background-color: #f8f3f0 !important;}”]In keeping with my love affair of carbs, this week I have been reacquainting myself with the lovely, lovely hot cross bun. I know it’s not Easter yet, but, these buns. They’re too good. Current faves are Tesco’s Finest range. As well as gorging on these sticky delights, can I get a wooohooo for Pancake Day on Tuesday? In my baby brain addled head, I thought it was next week so woke up and realised I had exactly two eggs, zero milk and zero flour for pancakes. I went out in the rain just to stock up on pancake ingredients. And when I say pancakes, I mean the thin, crepe kind. I bought Nutella, extra bananas, blueberries and even a Snickers bar with all intention of making up a medley of pancake toppings but in the end, it was a simple drizzle of lemon over melted butter and syrup that did the trick.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”18439″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”19306″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1518701155449{padding-top: 60px !important;padding-right: 50px !important;padding-bottom: 170px !important;padding-left: 50px !important;background-color: #f8f3f0 !important;}”]

Did you have a nice Valentine’s/Galentine’s Day? To be honest, it’s the least favourite of my holidays because if I want chocolate- I go and get myself chocolate. If I want a nice meal out, I say to my husband, let’s go for a nice meal out. I only really look forward to what comedy card Robin brings me every year (this year’s was a paper lobster) The only annoying blip this year was our sushi order never showed up and after two and half hours of waiting, we gave up and ordered a Domino’s instead. Good old Domino’s, always there when you need it.

Now the question is, do you order wings alongside your pizza? If not, what’s wrongwitchuuuu?[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1518706376490{padding-top: 50px !important;padding-right: 50px !important;padding-bottom: 100px !important;padding-left: 50px !important;background-color: #f8f3f0 !important;}”]

So this coat isn’t maternity wear, but it’s almost the exact shade of pink as my beloved Lauren Moffatt coat that pregnant me can no longer fit into- and that pretty much tipped me over the edge in deciding to purchase it. It’s the first non baby purchase I’ve made in a long time, so I don’t feel too guilty over it. It’s loose enough that I can wear it as my bump grows bigger and afterwards once that bump turns into a baby.

It comes in Tall and Petite as well as Regular and Curve sizes- from everybody’s favourite online shop, Asos. Check it oot here.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”19314″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][/vc_column][/vc_row]

  1. So amazing! It makes all those kicks and twinges in your belly very real of a sudden. Haha, the paper lobster was from Paperchase (its stuck to the front of a card that’s says You’re My Lobster) x
