[dropcap]W[/dropcap]here have I been? This has been the longest blogging break I’ve ever taken in the history of this blog’s existence. It wasn’t intentional (I’ve been battling a stomach bug and couldn’t even bear to look at my laptop) but the longer I was away from it, the more it became normal. Stepping away was an eye opener, in a good way. I have always felt like an outsider in the blogging world- and I felt this way even more so when I realised that bloggers I considered to be blogging friends/colleagues weren’t even following me anymore! But I think the crisis of confidence is over and it should be back to business slowly and steadily.
Things that have kept me sane and entertained in my sick bay:
Gavin and Stacey – a boxset I decided to rewatch. It’s so perfectly 00’s and sweet but mygod, I remember why I find James Corden super annoying.
Cat snuggles. Now I’m home, my cats are in heaven. I can’t even go to the loo without a little furry friend popping in for a hello and a face rub.
I chopped off loads of my hair at George Northwood a couple of weeks ago. It’s pretty short (for me) and I need to get in the habit of curling it when I go out, but otherwise, I’m happy to not be sporting about ten pounds of hair on my head anymore.
Autumnal wreaths- is it weird to decorate for Autumn? I really want an autumnal wreath on my front door. Because, you know, if you can’t go to Stars Hollow, bring Stars Hollow to yourself…
My parents came over on the weekend and brought me food and it was the happiest I had been since catching this bug. Sometimes, you just want your mum and dad.
Robin finished painting our bedroom, and now I’m on the lookout for some new art to put up on the walls. The spare room has been emptied of more toot and junk and it just needs a curtain to make it more guest friendly!
Here’s to returning to the blogosphere again- slow and steady does the trick.
