[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he circus of London Fashion Week has died down, but come this weekend, you can get a little taste of it through London Fashion Weekend and you can shop. I’ve never really paid too much attention to LFW, mainly because where we live you just have to walk out the door to come across some kerrraaazy street style, but mainly because it seemed like one big ball of manic that my inner McConnaughey couldn’t handle. George. invited me, Dani and Patricia to Friday’s London Fashion Weekend, and you know what? It was fun. Tons of people watching, a good browse through some gorgeous clothes (hello the Outnet!) and of course, Somerset House. It’s a beauty.
My yellow coat was a gift from George. and I love it- I had my eye on it at the Press preview a few months ago! It’s a nice bright shade of yellow- I was literally a walking ray of sunshine in a sea of black and grey on the way to Somerset House. It’s a steal at £15!
I kept the rest of my outfit simple with a crisp white button down shirt, ripped blue skinnies and my Stan Smiths. My bag is an oldie from Asos, that I bought purely for the Alexander Wang vibes.
In the morning, we went inside the tent to watch the Trends show- there was a brief introduction and the runway show started! We went through florals, shimmer, monochrome and my personal favourite, the 70s look. For the 70s inspired trend there was a lot of suede, fringing, and flares- add a feather and I’m all over it 😉
Speaking of flares, can anyone shout out a good pair as the ones I’ve come across just look a little 90s bootcut to me…
After the show, we did a little window shopping and got lost amongst the different Wings inside Somerset House. I got very excited over the Zoe Karssen racks and looked longingly at the 3.1 Phillip Lim Pashli bags *cries* Even with the heavy discounts on everything, I didn’t succumb to any temptation which makes me both sad and happy…there’s that matter of a wedding in 6 months to think about!
After a quick lunch and a coffee, it was nearly time for the next show- by which time I had to run off to another appointment!
Thanks George. & Talented Talkers for the treat!
Here’s a little video roundup from my day 🙂
