Guilt free Echo Falls at the Ham Yard Hotel

[dropcap]G[/dropcap]uilt free bubbles. Is there such a thing? Yes. Kindly invited by Kirsty, I went to the Ham Yard Hotel in Soho to be wined and dined by Echo Falls. Sort of wined. Definitely dined. The Ham Yard Hotel is gorgeous by the way! It’s like the prettier younger sister of The Soho Hotel.

Behind the hotel restaurant is a private lounge, where Echo Falls had set up a nice spread with their bubbles on arrival. I picked up a flute of bubbles and immediately knew there was something different to what I was drinking; it was slightly sweet, a little bit darker in colour than usual and didn’t have the dry aftertaste champagne can sometimes have. It wasn’t until a couple of glasses later- and a very sober me as I’m not a very big drinker- that we were told the bubbles were guilt free because…it was alcohol free. Alcohol free reasoning aside, it actually made for quite a nice fizzy drink on its own. Light bubbles and not overly sweet!

Since we were being so good on the bubbly front, I felt no guilt tucking into another plate of nibbles…

…followed by a mini manicure courtesy of Toop & Daley. My nails were filed, buffed and my hands massaged and then I fell asleep at the table. Not really (though it has been known to happen) but the massage was very soothing and makes my eyes glaze over the minute I recall it all back. Dreamy.

I was so happy on the comfy sofa, with a plate of sausage rolls and scones that I didn’t want to leave. I’ve never been thrown out anywhere and wasn’t about to start- goodbyes were said and off we wandered into the streets of Soho. Aside from the extra sausage roll I ate, it had been a guilt free evening!
