Christmas jumpers and festive silliness

[dropcap]E[/dropcap]very year, one of my favourite Christmas traditions is a big family get together after Christmas. On Christmas day, everyone is usually tied up in other family obligations so we always make a point to put aside a day to have our very own day together. Basically, we have Christmas Day twice! We open our presents by the tree and tuck into a lovely Christmas dinner all over again. It’s the best! We always have a bunch of props or funny hats to ham it up for Christmas photos (and every year I usually get dibs on the reindeer ears!) This year, I thought I would get on board with the silly Christmas jumper tradition, courtesy of New Look.

Thanks to our little monsters, we are constantly picking up battered Christmas tree decorations off the floor and putting them back on the tree. In fact, the lower two branches are bare to stop any temptation for the kittens get into a spot of tree diving (so far, it hasn’t worked) To be honest, I don’t really mind and this time I decided to get into the spirit of it all. I have a  wacky new jumper- a polar bear wearing a gold crown- and set to work sprucing up our poor tree! Louie, in particular, is obsessed with my felt ‘A’ decoration, I find it on the floor most mornings :/ They grow out of it…right?

I can’t wait to wear this again at Christmas, because who can resist that gold sequin crown wearing bear? He’s fabulous. Have you read His Dark Materials trilogy? I like to think he’s the baby version of Iorek Byrnison, Lyra’s polar bear knight in shining armour. Also; polka dots? It’s the best. My reindeer ears have been thrown out (by ‘accident’ apparently!) but I’m happy with my new bear friend here. I think we might get a few wears out of him this season! Do you have any Christmas traditions?
