[dropcap]L[/dropcap]ast week I jam packed my diary with meetings and places to go and then edited and drafted blog posts late into the night. By the time Friday rolled round, I was ready to lie on the floor at home and fall asleep. Lesson learnt; remember to schedule blogging and writing time too! In a whirlwind of Press Days, Photography Walks, and meetings, I managed to meet up with this polar bear at Topshop one lunchtime. No amount of encouragement would make her buy the furry hood. Party pooper.
I finally caved into the Christmas food temptations earlier this week. I asked Robin to buy a pack of mince pies on his way home from work, and the timing couldn’t have been better- all of these rainy days recently have been a perfect excuse to curl up with a hot mug of tea and a pie.
Yesterday, we met up with my parents and sisters in Harpenden to visit a local bakery about making our wedding cake. Turns out- there’s an awful lot to consider for a cake besides the flavour! The shape, the size, the number of guests, the weather, so whilst it wasn’t successful in that respect, the cake models of Olaf and Sven the Reindeer cheered me up a little! (plus the bakery was just head to toe cute)
Afterwards, we ended up on some sort of family thrifting session as the charity shops (and shops in general) were just too sweet not to rifle through. Harpenden, you are cute! I picked up the sweetest Christmas decoration set from a gift shop. They were little ceramic miniatures with gold thread; a snowman, a Christmas tree, a sleigh and a teeny tiny Gingerbread house.
Last weekend, I went to a wedding. I had never been to an Indian wedding before; it was mad fun. There was so much dancing and laughter, it was really heart warming to be included (and oy, the food! too good) My highlight was watching my friend Bally being hoisted onto a relative’s shoulders as everyone clapped and danced around them. The laughter was contagious! All the happy feels.
So you may have noticed a new button on my Menu bar, called 5 Questions. It’s a new series I am really excited to work on. Every other week (or so) I pose 5 questions to a creative- be it a musician, artist, actor, writer, illustrator. The awesome Austin from Broken Anchor was the first to be featured- I had a lot of fun chatting to him over a coffee at Wilton Music Hall the other day (beautiful place by the way!) If you are interested in being featured in this series, get in touch. I’m no Regina George and I don’t bite!
