The Watch Hut Autumn Blogger party

[dropcap]I[/dropcap] remember the first watch I ever had- I was 10 years old and it had a holographic dolphin on the face with a tan strap. I loved it (alas, it had an accident with a swimming pool and turned out not to be waterproof!) Then as a tween of the 90’s, the Baby G and G Shock watches were all the rage. There was nothing more I wanted than a white Baby G adorning my wrist- Kanye had nothing on me. Attending The Watch Hut’s Autumn blogger party the other evening reignited my enthusiasm for a fancy watch to jazz up my outfit- and not rely on the old iPhone anymore!

I got to reunite with Aftab and Jaime , who attended the Zomato meet up as well, and the eager beavers that we are- were the first to arrive! Which was fine, because that meant first dibs on the cupcakes. The store soon filled up with bloggers before The Watch Hut’s Head Buyer, Keira, went through this season’s presentation with us. She showed us the first watch that Barbour have come out with- very dainty and thin- and a couple of trends like leopard print (not for me even though I’m of the leopard-print-is-a-neutral camp!) One trend I did like were the all-black watches; the fun part was getting to try them on! I liked the Coach watch that looked like a bracelet, it had a little cover over the watch face. No one would ever know it was a watch- it was very cool and Inspector Gadgety (in a chic way!) Overall, my favourite brand and style were the David Wellington watches with the striped strap; preppy and nautical.

Thanks for being such wonderful hosts, The Watch Hut!

    Aftab 🙂

  2. Great photos and post, Angela! Thanks again for having me along – it was fun (even though we didn’t win – ha!)!

  3. I was never allowed a Baby G… it was every 90’s kid’s dream and my mum said no 😦 But I wanted that little breakdancer on the screen soooo bad.
