[dropcap]E[/dropcap]xeter Street Bakery held a launch party at their new Finsbury Park location, and I was delighted to get an invite to this new local gaff! On a drizzly London evening, we went to see what the fuss was all about. Our friends who also live locally had sung it’s praises, so I knew that a pizza party was going down in my belly tonight!
I watched as the sourbread based dough was stretched, smothered in thick tomato sauce and shuffled into a hot oven. The queue for the bar was shorter than the queue for pizza! Speaking of the bar, generous pint sized cocktails were on order. Ombre cocktails…as every cocktail should be.
Party time aside, I’m really looking forward to popping in for coffee. The premise seems to focus on the food- the space is minimal and all concrete, ensuring their food and drink are the stars of the show here. The staff were laid back and friendly, despite the overwhelming crowd of people inside.
I’m delighted with this latest addition to Finsbury Park- it’s literally a stone’s throw away from the tube station. Perfect for a laid back date night- me and the laptop have plans to take advantage of their wifi and baked goodies. Exeter Street Bakery have another branch in Central London, but it doesn’t feel out of place in Finsbury Park. Welcome to the neighbourhood guys!
