British Style with Joules

[dropcap]I[/dropcap]n the winter months, I live in neutrals. Alright. Mostly black. But when it’s summer, I am such a sucker for bright pops of colour. As I’ve said before in Koh Samui- yellow is my jam! Before we kiss this summer goodbye, here are my favourite picks from Joules. In fact,  this British label turns 25 this year and any clothing company that insists Brighter is Better, is good in my books. With the help of my two naughty assistants, I had a girly morning trying on outfits.

I adore the little polo ponies on my shirt. I’d even pop the collar to show off the yellow lining- blue and yellow, match made in heaven. The green polo shirt with the frill collar is cuter in real life but my favourite detail is the little pink bunny stitched on the front. I took ages to decide, but mini ponies wins all I reckon!

I loved the yellow skirt I picked out- it’s really bright, but the downside…it’s a lot shorter than what I normally wear! Might have to squirrel this one away to wear with tights when the chill sets in.

My favourite of the bunch is this chambray tunic dress, that I accessorised with my own red belt. Again, the details of the dress are so subtle-like the little curve in the sleeves and the red zip at the back of the dress. I can see myself wearing this to the office as well as day to day, and once winter hits, with tights…and red shoes!

Though not strictly Summer/Spring (although come on…British weather will always call for wellies!) these black pair with fluttering bees all over it are off the scale cuteness AND much to my delight, fit around my calves! They’re easily adjustable at the sides. I’m actually hoping for more wet weather to road test these babies.

If you are a fan of Cath Kidston, you’ll love Joules too. It has that British Country Heritage vibe that we all go nuts for, in the same way we fall in love with the Great British Bake Off, Mary Berry, Downton Abbey and every romantic film by Working Title every year. Lovely jubbly!

^^All items of clothing were c/o Joules, but thoughts and opinions my own^^

  1. Hi Katy! the little bees are a hit, my friends adore them too 🙂

Thank you so much! my blog is a customised wordpress theme that I bought and tweaked to my style- the best blog theme designers I’ve come across are Blog Milk and Solo Pine.
