Holi at Cinnamon Kitchen

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he fun continued at Cinnamon Kitchen, within the gorgeous Devonshire Terrace. Monday marked the day of Holi, a Hindu festival marking the day of Spring- no more Winter! With all this lovely sunshine recently, it felt very apt.  For the week, Cinnamon Kitchen have set up a Play Holi area in the courtyard, where you can pelt each other with colourful powders to your heart’s content. Or, in my case, my nose’s discontent. I was sneezing rainbows by the end of it.

After a delicious cinnamon bellini, from Anise- the adjacent bar of Cinnamon Kitchen- and few canapés, we put on some super flattering boiler suits and given a couple of packets of colourful powder. Breaking Bad chic! Here’s a few of us before the explosions of colour…

…and us, after! Including me- mid sneeze.

After we had cleaned up a little- wet wipes, what lifesavers!- we went into Anise for a few cocktail making lessons

Rob the mixologist showed us three different cocktails to make- all delicious. The cinnamon bellinis we had earlier were definitely my favourite though…mmmm.

Thanks to Uber, we were driven home in our colourful states- my black jeans had become a fetching dusty pink. I love using Uber, I always feel so fancy and spoiled when I use one of their cars. And because they’re so nice, they’re offering you £20 off for your first ride- use the discount code NUFFNANG20. Just download the app, type in your destination and away you go!

Holi is also about strengthening ties with friends and loved ones. That couldn’t describe the evening any better- meeting these crazy kids was great! Lynette, Leng, TomEmma/BloomzyEmma/GohemianTravelYishyeneJess, and Amrita– thank you for making the night as fun as it was! I mean…Oscar selfie love, people

Happy 7th Birthday Nuffnang! thanks for such a great time!

  1. I’ve seen a couple of the London blogs go here, it looks like so much fun!

And yes I remember from last year the holi festival I went to, so. much. powder. everywhere.

Seriously it gets into places you never knew powder could do!

    Hmm maybe…

  2. This looks like the most fun ever! I bet you were extra glad of the uber car on the way home – although you might have given a few folk a giggle on the tube…

  4. It was great fun! I think there’s a big Holi festival in Battersea every year- really up for that next year!
